John L. Myers
Fire Marshal

Captain, Myers has served the Orangeburg County Fire District since 2022 and has been in the fire service since 2018. As the Fire Marshal, his responsibilities include:

• Managing a changing population in order to get the method of Fire Prevention to everyone.

• Conducts plan reviews and inspections throughout the county to ensure code compliance for a safer Orangeburg County.

• Conducts fire investigations and works with other local, state, and government agencies.

Captain Myers is a certified Firefighter 2, Fire Officer, as well as holds certifications in technical rescue, diving, and forensics. He also holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice as well as attending school for his Bachelor’s Degree.
